Expert says Russia should focus on IT staff who stays in country

MOSCOW, Jan 11 (PRIME) -- Russia should not bring back the IT specialists who went abroad and should work mainly with those staying in the country because functioning of IT services and development of new technologies depend on them, Mobile Research Group leading analyst Eldar Murtazin told PRIME on Wednesday.

“The most important thing is that we do not lack staff. It is more or less all right with IT employees, this is why it is not quite clear which problem we are solving and, which is crucial, why … get them back? The other thing is that we need targeted work with companies in Russia, cooperation with systemically important companies is needed where the leading specialists should get army exemption,” Murtazin said.

Media reported that the Digital Development Ministry with the industry’s associations are preparing measures to bring back the IT specialists who left the country.

Murtazin said that the specialists who went abroad had found jobs and have no plans to return, and whose who left but failed to get employed are “unqualified staff.”
